Program Manager

Brandon Vu joined COPE Health Solutions as a Program Manager in March 2022. As a Program Manager, he oversees Health Scholar operations at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach and Irvine, CA. His duties in this position include management of the program’s leadership team and recruitment efforts, as well as the ongoing educational development of the Health Scholars at this location. The focus of Mr. Vu’s work with the COPE Health Scholars program at Hoag Hospital is to enhance scholar support throughout the hospital, meanwhile improving scholar experience and engagement.

Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Mr. Vu was a program participant in the COPE Health Scholars program at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA. Concurrent to his time as a Health Scholar, Mr. Vu joined the site’s Leadership Team, holding the roles of Department Coordinator, Assistant Director of Departmental Operations, and finally Director of Internal Operations. His responsibilities consisted of, but are not limited to, expansion and supervision of the leadership team, implementation and restructuring of new program departments, and oversight of project and recruitment efforts. Mr. Vu also served as the Health Scholar Assistant for this site, where alongside his Program Manager, he continued to manage and develop a team of seventy Leadership Team members, as well as mentoring his peers and leaders in professional development. He was heavily involved with all aspects of program operations for Health Scholars- from their recruitment and enrollment to their development and eventual graduation.

Mr. Vu attained his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from California State University, Fullerton. His work with COPE is heavily influenced by his desire to mentor and develop students and scholars into next-generation health care professionals, focusing on individual growth by providing opportunities for others to take initiative and lead teams independently. He also seeks to expand on regional recruitment strategies to promote program expansion and increase outreach to the community.
