Susan Owino

Consultant

Susan Owino, MS, joined COPE Health Solutions team as a Consultant in June 2022. She joins the organization with a diversified work experience and background in the areas of strategic clinical innovation and operations, chronic disease management, care management, state health programs, decision modelling, operations research, and statistical analysis. In her current role, Ms. Owino looks for ways to optimize clients’ abilities to deliver high-quality care to their patients efficiently and cost-effectively. Ms. Owino is currently supporting the Great Lakes Integrated Network (GLIN) account in network strategy and provider engagement.

Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, she most recently was a Senior Associate, Quality and Care Management Operations at Cityblock Health, a New York based health-tech company, where she lead development and implementation of scalable operational processes to support regulatory requirements. This included meeting NYS DOH and CMS compliance requirements, leading care management process improvements, managing care transitions, and overseeing HEDIS gap closures. Additionally, she was responsible for implementing and maintaining state health programs such as Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNP), Long-Term Services and Support (LTSS), and Health Homes.

Ms. Owino received her Master of Science in Health Policy and Economics with an Area of Concentration in Comparative Effectiveness Research Magna Cum Laude from Weill Cornell Medical College- Cornell University, where she completed a retrospective cohort study that predicted type II diabetes patient for lifestyle intervention. Previously, she also graduated with a Bachelor Business Administration in Business Management and a Minor in Economics from Western Connecticut State University.
