Van Chang, Director of Finance, is responsible for the areas of Finance and Accounting. In the Director role, Ms. Chang oversees the operations of the Finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives; oversee the accounting operations of the company as well as a subsidiary corporation, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures; direct month-close and year-end close processes; direct the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, company budget, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, payroll, and annual tax filing; lead the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit; develop and maintain financial initiatives on the corporate balanced scorecard and recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations; provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations; and, last but not least, administer the contracting process pre and post signing, and work with the service departments to ensure consistent reporting of the value produced by contracts for the company and its clients.

Ms. Chang is currently pursuing her second graduate degree, a Master of Professional Accountancy, at UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business. Ms. Chang earned a Master of Science degree with honors in Health Care Administration and Interprofessional Leadership from University of California, San Francisco. Prior to her graduate study, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from California State University, Long Beach where she was honored as the 2013 Valedictorian and Outstanding Graduate of College of Health and Human Services.

Ms. Chang has strong commitment to volunteer activities in the community. She is a co-founder of the Vietnamese American charity foundation Suoi Am (Warm Up). She and her charity team have traveled to Vietnam bringing food, clothes, and medicine to the poor and disabled. Prior her time with COPE Health Solutions, Ms. Chang worked as a quality management assistant at VA Long Beach Health Care System in 2011-2012, assisting with various advanced performance and regulation compliance projects.
