Timothy Layman, DNP

Vice President

Dr. Timothy Layman, DNP, MBA-HM, MSN, RN, NE-BC, is a Vice President at COPE Health Solutions. Dr. Layman is a board-certified nurse executive whose expertise spans for-profit, private, and university-based health care systems in operations, business, clinical medicine, and finance.

Prior to COPE Health Solutions, Dr. Layman was the Director of Hospital Clinical Operations at Angel Medical Center, HCA Healthcare – a Hospital & Healthcare company headquartered in Asheville, NC serving thousands of patients per year. In this role, he consistently delivered collaborative outcomes within hospitals and medical centers within a divisional and matrix-based environment. In this capacity, he led the positive transformation of regulatory compliance through critical disruption of operations, expanded business partnerships with external stakeholders, and integrated clinical and healthy work environment best practices across the organization. In addition, Dr. Layman created strategic partnerships focusing on alignment in practice across service lines and collaborative work around the health care systems strategy. Dr. Layman is also currently Adjunct Faculty at both LaRoche University and Thomas Jefferson University. Prior to these roles, Dr. Layman was a Faculty Lecturer at Yale University and Interim Chief Executive Officer/ Chief Nursing Officer at Angel Medical Center and Highlands-Cashiers Hospital.

Dr. Layman completed his Bachelor of Science in nursing at Penn State University, Master of Science in nursing administration at LaRoche University, and Master of Business Administration at Western Governors University. In addition, he completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice at Yale University. Dr. Layman has contributed to enhanced clinical services, improved quality, and care delivery with expertise in operations throughout the healthcare continuum. Dr. Layman is a competent, system-focused leader who recognizes that an institution’s most important asset are the colleagues within.
