Bambi May Luntumbue
Patient Care Navigator
Bambi May Luntumbue joined COPE Health Solutions as a Patient Care Navigator for the Los Angeles Enhanced Care Management team. In this role, she will be clients’ first point of contact through telephonic and field-based outreach. She is committed to making sure clients are aware of the resources provided for them and remaining informed about their care plan, even when changes occur.
Prior to joining the LA ECM team, Ms. Luntumbue volunteered and interned for different health care systems and agencies. In her teenage years, she began volunteering at the Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Westwood as a patient transporter. Later, Ms. Luntumbue began to volunteer for Providence St. Joseph in San Pedro, CA. In her time there, she was trained by a Patient Experience team member, as well as an Infectious Disease Preventionist. She gained the skills of service through patient rounding and advocating for patient safety through hand wash audits.
In addition to her previous volunteer positions, Ms. Luntumbue also gained additional experience by interning for a drug abuse program. She was an assistant to the outreach team. During that time, she was completing her bachelor’s degree program. The end of this internship, led to the beginning of a new opportunity with the Department of Public Health’s Emergency Preparedness Office.
Ms. Luntumbue received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management from CSU Dominguez Hills. She plans on continuing her education to eventually get her master’s degree in public health. However, for the time being, she has decided to continue to serve the Los Angeles community with the ECM team at COPE Health Solutions.
