Michael Wood

Director

Michael Wood is a seasoned health care professional with more than 20 years of cross-sector experience spanning health plan operations, quality management, member engagement, and the development of technology-enabled solutions that improve outcomes and enhance the member experience.

As a Director at COPE Health Solutions, Mr. Wood brings deep expertise in Medicare Stars, CAHPS, member engagement strategy, quality improvement, and model of care development. His career includes executive leadership roles at organizations such as NationsBenefits, where he served as Vice President of Product, leading the development of supplemental benefits, flex cards, and engagement platforms focused on driving measurable improvements in Stars ratings and member satisfaction.
Previously, Mr. Wood was the Chief Strategy Officer at Insightin Health, where he led the design and implementation of AI-driven engagement solutions that support payers and providers in closing care gaps, aligning incentives, and optimizing model of care delivery. He also served as a senior program manager at a large regional health plan, directing the Medicare Stars member experience portfolio and collaborating with business leaders to embed member-centric strategies across operational functions.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Wood led complex transformations for clients in the public and private sectors, including roles at Accenture and EDS in the United Kingdom, where he specialized in large-scale systems and business process redesign initiatives.

Mr. Wood holds a postgraduate diploma in Public Service Administration from the University of York (UK), a master’s certificate in Project Management from the University of Pitts-burgh, and a diploma in Business Systems Information & Business Analysis from the Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB). He is a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner and previously served on the board of the HIMSS Western Pennsylvania chapter from 2019 to 2021.
