Shawn Varughese

Shawn Varughese is the Manager of Financial Modeling and Healthcare Analytics at COPE Health Solutions, where he provides expertise in financial modeling, business intelligence insights, budgeting, forecasting, and contract analysis. With over 12 years of experience, he specializes in building analytic solutions for providers, health plans, and health technology firms.

Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Mr. Varughese was a Senior Analytics Consultant at Empassion Health, where he developed a risk adjustment analytics program for the High Needs ACO Reach model, creating a performance tracking system to identify documentation gaps and enhance provider risk score performance.

In previous roles, Mr. Varughese has worked for Amazon developing large-scale business intelligence solutions. Prior to that, Mr Varughese managed a team of analysts at SOMOS Community Care, a large IPA practice in New York City improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations. In his role, he established multi payer databases for claims, quality, and enrollment data and launched Tableau as a data visualization solution for the organization. In his role, he was responsible for improving operational efficiency of the community health workers, monitoring financial performance of value-based contracts, and improving physician performance on quality incentive programs. He has also spent time leading an internal data visualization transformation project for Remedy Partners to analyze episodic bundle spend in the BPCI Advanced mode. He also has experience in various roles at Healthfirst including network analytics, claims processing, and quality reporting.

Mr. Varughese earned his Bachelor of Science from The Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Healthcare Administration from the Cornell University Sloan Program.
