Karla Gomez, MD

Karla Gomez, MD, MCM, is a Program Manager for COPE Health Solutions. She is currently overseeing the Extended Care Management program in Los Angeles and is excited to actively work on minimizing the health gaps affecting our community.

Before her career in medicine, she worked in education for 5 years teaching science courses to high school and middle school students. Although teaching was a fulfilling and rewarding experience for her, she always had wanted to achieve her goal of attending medical school so in the future she can serve underserved populations.

She received her medical degree from UAG School of Medicine and spent 2 years in Guadalajara, Jalisco completing her medical coursework. Later she moved to Las Vegas Nevada, where she completed her medical clinical clerkships and assisted over 20 physicians with patient care. Dr. Gomez also received her master’s in communication management from USC and her bachelors of biological sciences from UC Merced.
