Kate Totten

Program Manager

Kate Totten joined COPE Health Solutions in March 2024 as a Program Manager for Adventist Health Simi Valley Hospital. Her responsibilities include daily operations, mentoring Health Scholars, expanding the growing COPE Health Scholar program, and overseeing Scholars’ involvement in organizational programs and initiatives. Ms. Totten has experience in instruction, organizational development, change management, and mental health care.

Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Ms. Totten worked in mental health care in private practice for several years. She has a longstanding passion for helping others, particularly in their career and professional development. Ms. Totten’s interest in helping others find meaningful careers began during her undergraduate education guiding peers in life and career planning. Ms. Totten also has experience in instruction and facilitation, working as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant and later as a Practitioner Instructor for Wake Forest University. After moving from North Carolina to California in 2019, she returned to graduate school to study Industrial and Organizational Psychology where she discovered her interest in organizational culture, leadership, organizational development, and change management.

Ms. Totten graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She also received a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a Master of Arts degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from The Chicago School in Los Angeles, California. She is looking forward to collaborating with Adventist Health Simi Valley Hospital to create impactful professional development opportunities for Health Scholars and connect people to fulfilling careers in health care.
